The Swarm of Apis

Chapter 5

    Ace, Ginger and Pepper stepped of their team base to begin preparations for their big fight against the wicked and evil Vespiquen, Apis.

    "Ah. Ace, Ginger and Pepper! How are you three today?" One of the Kecleon brothers of the Kecleon Mart asked the trio.

    "Good. But we're kinda' in a hurry," Ace replied.

    "Oh? And why's that?"

    Ace then explained the events of the previous day.

    "Oh. That is bad. I see... I'll let the guild know right away!" the Kecleon responded in understanding.

    "Thank you, Kecleon," Ace said with a respectful bow.  Turning towards his two teammates, the Pikachu then mentioned, "Okay. Our next stop is to Kanghaskan Storage."

    "Okay. Do we have everything?" Ace asked.

    "Yup. We have everything. The Escape Orbs, the Quick Seeds, the Graverlerocks, and all the other items." Pepper affirmed.

    "Good. Now, if we're going to beat Apis for good, we'll need a strategy."

    "What kind of strategy, Ace?" Ginger inquired.

    "Well we know for one that the spray didn't work, so we'll need something else..."

    "Hmm. I know! We could ask Adam to make holograms of ourselves! That way, we can distract the other Pokemon in there, and get to Apis!" Ginger suggested.

    "While that is a good idea, it might take a few days, maybe even a week, to get the holograms programmed. Plus, if we do use that idea, Adam's going to have to take data on our movements to program them into the holograms."

    "That is a good point," Ginger agreed with a hint of sadness in her tone.

    "Hmm... What else..."

    "Can we be of some assistance, Ace?" A familiar female voice was heard at that moment.

    "Cutey Punny?! Molo?! What are you two doing here?!" asked a surprised and astonished Ace.

    "Well, we saw on TV a couple days ago that Apis struck again, it seems," the costumed Lopunny super-heroin, Cutey Punny, replied.

    "Wait, you know about Apis?"

    "Yup. CP got transformed into one of her bug drones, but luckily she still had her free will," the Lopunny boy, Molo, explained.

    "Don't remind me..." Cutey Punny muttered. “And I thought I told you to stop calling me that.”

    "Anyways, what are you guys planning?" Molo then asked.

    "Well Adam gave us this spray that was supposed to prevent Ginger and I from getting brainwashed by Apis's pollen. But for some reason it didn't work, at least not for Ginger. So we're trying to figure out a new plan right now."

    "How about bait?" Cutey Punny suggested.

    "Huh?" Ace asked, puzzled and a bit confused.

    "Bait. Since Apis will probably want revenge on us for foiling her plans in the past, Molo and I can act as bait and distract the other Pokemon, while you three defeat and arrest Apis!"

    "That sounds like a great idea, Cutey Punny!" Pepper said with excitement.

    "Alright, it's settled then,” Ace concluded. “In a couple hours we're going to go back to Apis's lair and swat down her plans like a bug on the wall."
