Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Nightmares


Chapter 2: Breakfast and... a fight?





"Ahhh... Alright. Time to go the guild!" Jared said as he got up from his bed, stretching his arms.

"Hmm? What's that yummy smell...? Huh? Korrina? When did you get up?"

"30 minutes ago. You were still asleep, so I thought I would make breakfast," Korrina said with a smile.

"Well, if you told me you were making breakfast, I would've gotten up earlier," Jared said. Korrina then replied back with another smile and lightly laughing. "Well, what're ya cooking up?"

"Bacon and eggs."

"Um... Forget that I ask this this, but would the bacon come from a Pignite, and would the eggs come from a Chansey or Exxegecute...?" Jared asked while dropping a sweat bullet and with a slight "uneasy" expression.

"Actually, the bacon comes from my father, who is a butcher, and he donates some of the meat he makes over to the guild. And the eggs come from my mom, who is a baker, and she also donates some of the milk, eggs and cheese over to the guild as well," Korrina explained to Jared.

"Phew. For a second there, I thought that actual Pokemon got turned into meat."

"Well, the dairy products comes from actual Miltank, but my dad apparently wants to keep where he gets the meat from a secret," Korrina explained.

"O...k... Well, um, I'm unfortunately allergic to eggs, so I'll only be able to have bacon."

"Aww... That's so unfortunate that you're allergic to eggs," Korrina said while drooping her ears slightly.

"Yeah... But, at least it's not something bad like glutton or dairy. But anyways, how about we have breakfast? I'm starving!" Korrina then just smiled and giggled slightly.

"Alright."

"Ah..."

"Full?"

"Yep. Even a few slices of bacon can fill me up," Jared said while laying down, licking his face. Then, he just remembered something. "Oh! Don't we need to go to the Guild?"

"Oh crap! Yeah! Come on!" Korrina said while getting up out of her seat, and pulling Jared's arm.

"Wah! Slow down!" Jared said while screaming, because Korrina was going super fast while using her Quick Attack.

"Hey, if we want to get signed into the Guild, we need to get there as fast as we can!" Suddenly, something fell out of Korrina's Explorers Bag. Then, when Jared quickly felt it before it fell, he suddenly felt a headache come to him.

"Why the heck am I having this headache...? Is it because of that stone...?"

"Um, Korrina...? I think something fell out of your bag," Jared pointed out.

"I have no time for that!"

"But-"

"No but's! We need to get to the Guild now!"

"Korrina, listen to me!!" Korrina then stopped, and turned around, surprised that Jared just yelled to her.

"Look. I just got a headache when I quickly touched the stone before it fell. I don't know if my quickly made up theory is correct, but I feel that the stone has some weird power, and I even got a quick vision."

"What kind of vision?" Korrina asked.

"I'm not sure. But, because of my slight theory, I think we should go get the stone."

"But... We need to get to the Guild!" Korrina protested.

"I know that. But right now I think that getting that stone back is more important."

"...Alright. We'll go back to get the stone," Korrina said. However, Jared and Korrina didn't know that two other Pokemon were watching them.

"Hehehe... That stone will cost a lot of dough if we steal it, right Koffing?"

"Hohoho. You're wright, Zubat. Besides, the boss would definitely like something like that, I'm sure of it!"

"Okay. We steal it right now!"

"Are you sure it dropped down here?" Korrina asked.

"Yes. I'm sure of it."

"Well, I don't see it right no- Wait! I see it!" Korrina said while pointing to the stone getting close into view.

"Really? Hey! You were right! I do see it! Wait, what?!" Jared then noticed a Koffing heading right towards the stone, trying to pick it up, bit resulted in knocking the stone down to the beach.

"You idiot! You were supposed to pick it up with your head, not make it fall!" The Zubat said while scolding his partner.

"Come on! The stone's down on the beach!" Jared said to Korrina while passing by the Zubat and Koffing.

"See ya, losers," Korrina said back to the Pokemon.

"Grr! They're getting to the stone! After them!"

"Come on! We need to get it before that Koffing and Zubat does!" Jared said while running towards the stone.

"Well, I don't see them right no- Gah!!" Korrina yelled as she was hit with a brown, mud-like substance on the back.

"Hey! What are you guys doing here?!" Jared said to the two Pokemon.

"Hehehe. What are we doing? Why, we're taking that stone from you, of course!" The Zubat explained.

"You two are not getting the stone!" Korrina said as she got up.

"Oh? And what are you going to do about it, little girl?" The Zubat asked Korrina.

"Well, I don't know..."

"We're going to defeat you, that's what!" Jared said as he got in front of Korrina.

"Hah! Defeat us? You'd have to be pretty brave and tough to challenge us!" The Koffing said with a smirk.

"Oh, I plan to defeat you guys," Jared said with a confident and slight malicious smirk, with electricity sparking from his cheeks.

"Get ready you two!!" Jared charged at the two Pokemon, with his body engulfed in a white-like aura at the back of him.

"Bring it on, rat!" The Koffing and the Zubat also charged at Jared.
