Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Nightmares


Chapter 1: Getting to know one another



"Whoa! Wh-wh-whoa! Are... Are you okay?!"

No! Don't let go!"

"Just a little longer... Come on!"

"N-n-no! I can't...hold on...!"

"Waaaaaah!"

"Okay... I can do this!" A blue, dog-like Pokemon approached a tent that looked like a Wigglytuff, and stood on a hole which was covered up with what looked like wood beams.

"Pokemon detected! Pokemon detected! Who's footprint? Who's footprint?" After backing up a little bit, the dog-like Pokemon started to sulk slightly.

"Man... Why can't I do this? Every time I try and do this, I get overtaken by my fear and cowardlyness." The Pokemon started to walk away, going to a beach.

"Ah... The beach always looks so beautiful and pretty during sunset, especially when the Krabby use their Bubble. It looks so beautiful..."

"Ugh...." A Pokemon started to make some weird noises, getting the attention of the Pokemon admiring the sunset.

"Huh? Oh my god!" The Pokemon started to run towards the unconscious Pokemon.

"Hey! Are you alright? Come on! Wake up!" After shaking the unconscious Pokemon a bit, he woke up.

"Ugh... Huh? Where am I? What happened?"

"Oh! I'm so glad you're awake!" The Pokemon said cheerfully.

"Huh? Awake? Was I sleeping? Wait... You're a talking Riolu!"

"Well why wouldn't I be? You're a talking Pikachu," the Riolu said to the Pikachu.

"Wait... A Pikachu?!" The Pokemon went to the water, seeing his reflection.

"No... How can this be?! I'm a Pikachu?!"

"Well who are you, then, if you're not a Pikachu?" The Riolu asked.

"I'm a human! Wait... I'm not a human anymore!" The Pikachu said.

"A human?" The Riolu asked, puzzled.

"Yeah. I was once a human. Although I'm not sure how the heck I was turned into a Pikachu..." The Pikachu said, curious.

"Well, do you have anywhere to stay, considering what is happening right now?" The Riolu asked.

"No, not really..."

"Well then, how about you come stay at my place? I've got some really good that you might wanna' try," the Riolu said with a friendly smile.

"Really? Thanks!" The Pikachu said happily. "Oh yeah. I forgot to ask you. What's you're name?"

"My name is Korrina. But you can just call me Korra," the Riolu said.

"Alright. Korra. Well then, my name is Jared."

"Jared. That's a nice name," Korrina said with a friendly smile.

"So... Should we go to your place?" Asked Jared.

"Sure," Korrina said with a friendly smile.

"Wow... Who knew your base was inside of the mouth of a Sharpedo rock..."Jared said.

"Yeah... It's not the best type of house in the world, but at least it's useful, Korrina said while rubbing the back of her head, slightly embarrassingly.

"Well, at least it's a base."

"Yeah, I guess so," replied Korrina.

"So... What kinds of beds do you have?"

"Well, the only beds I have are straw beds, along with some blankets."

"Alright. I can live with that," said Jared

"Why do you say that?" Asked Korrina.

"Well, while I have an allergy to hay, I think I'll be able to live with it."

"Oh... Well, unfortunately the only beds I have are straw beds..."

"Don't worry. It's okay," Jared said with a friendly smile.

"Well, after dinner, we better get a good night sleep, because we're going to the Guild tomorrow," said Korrina.

"Alright. Hey... Do you mind helping me finding out why I was turned into a Pikachu?"

"Of course!" Said Korrina with a happy smile.

"Thank you," Jared said with a respectful bow, while also hugging Korrina.

"Di-Did he just hug me...?" Korrina thought to herself while blushing slightly.

"Um... You do know you're blushing... right...?" Asked Jared.

"Um... Yes... I'm blushing..."

"Hmm... Wonder what that would be from... Well, how about we have some food? I'm starving," Jared said while licking his lips.

"Alright," Korrina said with a smile. And with that, Jared and Korrina made a plan to go to the Guild tomorrow, and find out about how Jared got turned into a Pokemon.
